Job Overview

Every month, thousands of people with disabilities leverage Trajector products and services to receive monetary benefits they medically, ethically and legally qualify for. Our Data Engineering Team is on the mission to deliver the best data foundation that drives impact through informed decision making. We are looking for an individual to join our highly collaborative organization and contribute to data infrastructure, data models, transformational pipelines and data visualizations supporting a variety of teams, from Software Engineering through Data Science to Executive Leadership.

About Our Perks, Compensation, & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation ranging from $130,000 - $145,000 per year with total compensation ranging from $150,000 - $167,000.

Responsibilities

  • Keep a sharp eye on opportunities to expand our modern data stack with constantly emerging tools and technologies.
  • Conceptualize complex business processes and design sophisticated data models for operational and analytical data stores.
  • Partner with engineering, data science and business leads to internalize data needs and provide end-to-end solutions.
  • Research, profile and integrate data from a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
  • Design, implement and own ETL/ELT processes and data artifacts such as pipelines, datasets and dashboards.
  • Apply best practices of data engineering to ensure data quality, performance, reliability, security and compliance for allocated areas of ownership.
  • Educate your cross-functional partners about best data practices, identify and address gaps in their data-related processes.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with writing complex SQL statements
  • Experience with Python or another server-side programming language
  • Experience with ERD diagrams and dimensional models
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • SQL experience with a major data warehouse vendor: Snowflake, Redshift, Vertica, etc.
  • Experience working with modern pipeline orchestration engines: Airflow, Luigi, Prefect
  • Experience with modern BI tools like Preset, Tableau or Looker
  • Fluency in Linux command line
  • Familiarity with AWS services and tools
  • 5-8 years of experience. 
  • Minimum internet speed of 10 uploads and 5 downloads
