Job Overview

This Trajector Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Quality Engineer to help assure quality for the next generation of our products and services. We are looking for an individual that will bring deep technical skills, rigorous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. 

 

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for test automation, implementing automation frameworks and enhancements, testing features, workflows, and web applications to ensure that they are functioning correctly and meet high standards for quality. This is a remote position and will work in Eastern time. This individual will report to the Director of Quality and Release Management.

Responsibilities

  • Write automated test scripts that enable speed of testing and software delivery. 

  • Identify and proactively seek out opportunities to augment team and framework capabilities. 

  • Collaborate with development and product management teams to understand the requirements for system enhancements and new features. 

  • Analyze end user requirements to create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases. 

  • Execute manual and automated test cases, debug, detect errors and / or possible improvements, document them and follow up to be resolved. 

  • Identify, reproduce, and report defects and verify fixes. 

  • Work with QA lead to help manage User Acceptance Testing process. 

  • Participate in agile development process and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. 

  • Document the functionalities of the systems. 

  • Represent the end user to the developers to ensure that the requirements are met. 

  • Detect and propose improvements in both the quality control process and the software development cycle. 

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • 10+ years testing, building or supporting web applications, with a minimum of 5 years of proven success in test automation. 

  • Experience testing APIs and client applications. 

  • Experience using ticketing systems such as Jira, Trello, etc. 

  • Experience with test case management software. 

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. In disagreements, you engage thoughtfully with other perspectives and are willing to compromise.

  • Familiarity with automated browser testing using an end-to-end testing framework (Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Puppeteer, Playwright, etc).

  • Experience testing or supporting a CRM systems such as Salesforce or Zoho.

  • Experience writing code using a language such as JavaScript or Python.

  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

  • Expert level test automation skills.

  • A passion for quality engineering, test automation, and driving efficiency.

  • An automation-first mindset

  • A strong solution-oriented drive and focus on outcomes.

  • Experience as quality owner for a product or critical SaaS platform component.

  • Excellent writing skills to document unexpected behaviors and discuss testing scenarios with software engineers.

  • A tenacious but collaborative approach to working across teams to drive toward objectives.

  • A drive to find consistent approaches to solving similar types of problems.

  • A pragmatic view on technology. You may be opinionated, but you're not ideological and can view technical decisions as having necessary tradeoffs.
